Off today to the Brisbane Jewellery Fair run by the Jewellery Association of Australia. Diamonds and Pearls and Rubies oh my!!
Lately there has been more and more silver pieces at these types of fairs, the market is changing dramatically as the price of gold continually rises. With that though, Silver is also increasing in value so it slowly making its way into the 'Fine' jewellery category. Silver set with Diamonds and Precious Stones, silver priced at astronomical figures, and silver positioned as a luxury metal where only a few years ago it was the poor sister in the Precious Metal family.
Thats probably a really good thing for me actually, most of my pieces are Sterling Silver Plated, which keeps the price down a little but also means that the pieces are quality and tarnish resistant, unlike cheap base metal copies! Mixing with Semi Precious Stones and beads brings the silver trend to life.
Lets see what this fair brings and hopefully its a whole lotta inspiration!
